I think in flows, not frames. The pricing model, the email sequence, the design system, the research cadence — that's where the leverage lives. A beautiful screen sitting inside a broken system is still a broken system. I think in flows and ecosystems, not isolated moments.
Design outcomes are almost never owned by one person. The best work I've shipped came out of a PM who said yes to research, an engineer who pushed back on a flow, a marketer who reframed a value prop. This also means people trust you in rooms where trust matters. Trust compounds. Optics don't.
Before a single frame on the canvas, I want to know what's actually true — not what feels true, not what a stakeholder believes, not what one user requested in a feature forum. That restraint is a principle, even when it's uncomfortable to hold. The fastest ship is usually the one that started slow.
The most useful thing a designer can do is sometimes prevent a thing from being built. I've talked teams out of features that would have cost months of engineering. I've challenged pricing decisions made on instinct. I've defended a user's experience to a stakeholder who outranked me. Pushback isn't conflict. It's craft.
